CHICAGO MORTGAGE
INTELLIGENCE HAS A
NEW IDENTITY.
Mortgage rates. Home prices. Loan programs. Affordability. Credit. Strategy. Education. One system designed to help Chicagoland homebuyers put all the pieces together before making one of life's biggest financial decisions.
Why MortgageOS Exists
Buying a home should not feel like trying to solve a puzzle without being given all the pieces.
That is the idea behind MortgageOS — the Mortgage Operating System. Instead of beginning and ending the conversation with "What's your rate?", MortgageOS looks at the complete mortgage picture.
The rate matters. But so do the payment, credit profile, loan program, down payment, cash to close, property taxes, insurance, long-term plans and the price of the home you're buying.
Mortgage Rates Are Back Above 7%
As of September 24, 2026, Freddie Mac reports the national average 30-year fixed mortgage rate at 7.03%.

A 7% Market Doesn't Mean You Stop Planning.
It means understanding your numbers becomes even more important. The question isn't simply whether rates are high or low. The real question is: What does today's market mean for your particular mortgage?
Chicago Buyers Are Facing a Different Market Than Much of America
Despite higher borrowing costs, Chicago home prices have continued to show strength.
Redfin's latest Chicago data shows a median sale price of approximately $426,255, up approximately 9.3% from the previous year. Homes were selling in approximately 49 days.
That tells us something important: higher mortgage rates have not automatically translated into lower Chicago home prices. Demand and available housing supply still matter enormously.

Competition Hasn't Disappeared.
Cook County's median sale price reached approximately $383,716 in August 2026.
Active listings were down approximately 3.6% from a year earlier, while about 43.2% of homes sold above their asking price.
For buyers, this is why preparation matters. You may be dealing with a higher-rate environment while simultaneously competing for desirable properties.
What Should Chicago Homebuyers Do?
This is where MortgageOS comes in.
Understand your payment and price range before falling in love with a property.
Credit can influence mortgage pricing, available programs and your overall financing strategy.
Conventional, FHA, VA and other options can produce very different financial outcomes.
Include principal, interest, property taxes, homeowners insurance and applicable mortgage insurance.
Preparation can matter even more in a competitive housing market.
I Didn't Just Build MortgageOS.
I Wrote the Playbooks.
